Photographic philosophising.

Taken a year ago at Llansteffan in Carmarthenshire. I've experimented with the sky and the lighting on the sand. Quite pleased with it. There's a feel of future trials. There seem to be grim faces in the sky and in the trees on the cliff. The couple are elderly. But their walk into the sunlight, arms linked, conveys their strength and togetherness.

This series of archways was taken in spring at Dore Abbey. I've used layering and a smudge stick to achieve the texture I wanted. Again, this image concentrates on something which lies ahead. The eye is forced to look to the sunny future whilst still surrounded by roughness and ruin.

Autumn's arrived.

Travelling from Newtown to Knighton. A very grey day. In the Teme valley I saw these golden and russet trees and so I had to stop to photograph them.
A friend has recently had a cataract operation. He was thrilled to see all the colours which were so much brighter than he'd got used to! How lovely that he had it done in autumn.

Sadly we've had a series of very leaden days recently. Not at all like last November which was freezing and even snowy. Being a naturally warm person I hadn't realised that the house had become chilly until my daughter came into the lounge wearing her fur boots, ON went the central heating!
